Mother-daughter/son weaving workshop
PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR WORKSHOP DATES!
Do you like to create together with your daughter or son? Would you like to try and learn the really slow, magical world of weaving? Then come and learn to weave on a frame loom with me!
This 3 hour workshop will provide you with everything you need to know to create a pretty little woven bracelet, bookmark, coaster or wall hanging on a frame loom: from warping your loom, learning the basic weaving techniques to finishing your woven piece. You can choose your own colors you will work with, there will be a huge rage of options. You will get to know a little bit about the different types of yarns too.
My intention with this workshop is that beside learning the basics of a wonderful meditative craft which you can use any time you feel a little daunted, you switch off a little of this rushing world while creating something with your own two hands.
Why is weaving great for children?
It developes their attention, concentration, perseverance, patience, creativity, fantasy, manual dexterity.
Its rhythmic, slow movements help to slow down, switch off, quiet down – I think we all need this sometimes.
