You are just about to start weaving? Then this is the perfect weaving kit for You!
Each kit includes all of the materials you will need to make your own wall hanging:
- 1 small (18×24 cm / 7×9.5 inches) wooden weaving loom with notches
- cotton warp thread (for warping your loom, and also for hanging the finished piece)
- colorful wool yarn package
- 1 steel tapestry needle
- 1 shuttle
- a 16 cm (6 inches) long sanded wooden dowel for hanging your wall hanging
- a detailed step-by-step tutorial with photos which contains everything you need to know to create a woven wall hanging from start to finish
Age recommended: from age 6
This wall hanging was designed so that it’s easy to make for little kids too. Also, there are some steps that require a little bit different, more simple approach in their case (ages 6-8) – you can find these in the tutorial too.
Duration of creating the wall hanging: about 4-6 hours minimum. Weaving is a really slow form of craft, and that's what I love about it 🙂 It really calms you, bring you to a state of mind where you totally forget about this busy world.
Dimensions of the finished piece: 14 cm (5.5 inches) wide, 27 cm (10.5 inches) long
Please note that handwoven pieces require very gentle care, as any excessive handling may result in the fibers shifting their place. They can not be washed in washing machine. You can softly dust your wall hanging from time to time if needed.
